A construction worker falls through the roof of Springfield Wendy’s, records show – WHIO TV 7 and WHIO Radio


SPRINGFIELD — Crews in Springfield responded to a Wendy’s on E. Main Street Tuesday afternoon after receiving reports that someone had fallen through the building‘s roof.

Shipping records from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office show that around 3:30 p.m. crews were called to the fast food outlet at Block 2400 of E. Main Street over reports that a construction worker had fallen through the roof.

A 911 caller told dispatchers that a 19-year-old man was working on the roof of Wendy’s when he fell through a rooftop access.

“There was an open sidewalk and he fell through the roof,” the 911 caller said.

The 911 caller said the man had a head injury.

Dispatch records showed a medical helicopter was called to assist at the scene. The exact extent of the person’s injuries was not immediately known.

Crime scene video showed the building is currently under construction.

The WHIO has contacted the Springfield Fire Division and is awaiting a response.
